No make-up policy
If a student misses a lesson, he or she will simply miss the benefit of that lesson, mainly the time with me. Remember that your tuition pays for far more than just lesson time with your child. You can also opt to swap with another student, use Facetime, Skype, or simply call to chat about your child’s progress during the time that is reserved for your child.
If I have to miss a lesson I will email you with information about how to handle a reschedule or refund for the lesson.
Make-up week at the end of the school year
I definitely know first hand that there are circumstances when it's very hard not to miss a lesson.
So, in spite of the wonderful ideas set forth by the economist's letter, I do have a soft spot: I offer one week at the end of the school year, free of charge, for anyone who have missed at least one lesson. I follow the current schedule during that week. (See Calendar)
Many years ago an economist wrote a letter explaining the "no-make up" idea. No one has done it better. Here it is for you to read if interested.
